Giovanna Calabrese is Associate Professor of Physiology at the Department of Chemical, Biological, Pharmaceutical and Environmental Sciences, University of Messina.
She received her PhD in “Medical Embryology, Pathology and Experimental Hematology” from the University of Catania. She is co-organizer of international congresses intissue regeneration and neuroscience topics and she has participated to several Italian and European national research projects.
Her scientific interest is focused on the cellular and molecular mechanisms of the regenerative medicine and tissue engineering. Specifically, she studies molecular mechanisms and signaling pathways of bone formation and ossification both in vitro and in animal models.
Overall, Prof. Calabrese has reached a total of 48 publications, 841 citations and an h-index of 17.
