Giovanna Pitarresi

Graduated with honors in Pharmacy in 1990 and since
November 2011 Full Professor of the SSD CHIM/09 at the University of Palermo.
Since 2020 she has been Coordinator of the PhD in Molecular and Biomolecular
Sciences and was President of the Degree Course in "Scientific Information
on Drugs" (2006-2009) and Head of the "Chemistry and Pharmaceutical
Technologies" Section, STEBICEF Department (2015- 2021). She is currently
professor of "Pharmaceutical Technologies" and "Pharmaceutical
Forms" for the Degree Course in Pharmacy. The main research fields
concern: Synthesis, chemical, physicochemical and biological characterization
of biocompatible polymers - Nanoparticles - Microparticles - Hydrogels for drug
delivery - Scaffolds for regenerative medicine - She is the author of 166
Scientific Publications in international journals, 6 book chapters, 16 national
and international patents. She is scientific manager and/or has participated in
several projects funded POR FESR Sicily 2014-2020, PON 2014-2020, PON
2007-2013, CARIPLO, PRIN, FIRB, CORI, University Projects (ex-60%) and funded
projects from biomedical companies. She has collaborations with European
research groups
